Getting started
Smart Icon Cover draws a small icon from each card’s title and sets it as the card’s cover. Here’s how to make your first one.
1. Add the Power-Up to a board
- Open a Trello board and click Power-Ups in the board menu.
- Search for Smart Icon Cover and click Add.
Power-Ups are added board by board in Trello. Add Smart Icon Cover to every board where you want icon covers; you only authorize it once.
2. Authorize it with Trello
The first time you use Smart Icon Cover, it asks you to authorize it with Trello. This lets it read your boards, lists and card titles to choose each icon, and add the icon image to the card as its cover. It never deletes cards or changes their text. What Smart Icon Cover changes on your cards.
On the Free plan, the free list run opens right after you authorize: pick one list and the cards you want, and they get icon covers in one go, so you can see a covered list next to an uncovered one. Click Not Now to skip it; you’ll find it on the Boards & Card Cover Credits tab later.
3. Make an icon cover
- Open any card and find the Smart Icon Cover section.
- Click Generate Icon Cover. In about 15 seconds the card has an icon drawn from its title.
- Don’t like it? Click Regenerate for a new one.
Each icon cover uses one cover credit, including a regenerated one.
